Researcher
2023
St Pauls Cathedral
Conducted critical archival and site-based research into the East India Company monuments at St Paul's Cathedral, interrogating official guide narratives and architectural histories.

I recontextualised this British solider monument by instead choosing to give voice the Sikh man etched, shrouded and mourning the loss of a British lieutenant. I drew on the complexities of what it meant to fight for the British Indian army as a Sikh Punjabi soldier.

Through close visual analysis and embodied observation, I examined representation, spatial politics, and the emotional weight embedded in imperial memorialisation. A link to the text on St Paul's Website is on my essay page.

Tower Hamlets Local History Library and Archive
2020
Redaction Volunteer
As a volunteer with Tower Hamlets Council, I worked on the digitisation of Edith Ramsay's records. Ramsay was a community activist who served on the British Colonial Advisory Committee. I created digital shadow copies of sensitive material, including personal and confidential correspondence, ensuring both preservation and responsible access.

Working in accordance with Freedom of Information and Data Protection legislation, I assessed, redacted, and prepare files for public domain. This involved reviewing substantial volumes of material, redacting non-public figures, such as migrants in Tower Hamlets, who are often found erased from British history.
